Dear Community Partner,

I would like to introduce you to the Hartford Girls Basketball Club. The Hartford Girls Travel is an amateur Athletic organization started in 2002. This is a grassroots club in only its fourth year of existence. We are looking to become a full member in the Connecticut Girls Travel Basketball League for the 2006 2007 season.

We are proud to say that 100% of our players are from the Hartford School System and have been playing within leagues provided by the City of Hartford. We are also proud to say that the participants from our first 4 years gained valuable playing experience from this opportunity they never had in the past. But, more important they developed self-confidence, sportsmanship, social and life skills they can carry with them forever. Many of our former players are now playing for the Hartford Public School Systems' High Schools.

This year we are able to field individual teams for the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade levels. In some cases we will be able to field double teams for certain grades. We do not want to turn any student away that wants to play. So as you see we continue to grow every year. We are also in our 4th year as a Jr. WNBA franchise. We provide this to other interested players unable to participate in a travel environment.

We are actively seeking sponsorship or donations to help defray the cost of our 2006-2007 season. Costs include league membership fees, gym time and uniforms for Travel and Jr. WNBA and Concession costs. These costs total to $6000 per season. We would be grateful if you would consider our organization as part of your community support. We would also welcome the opportunity to create a partnership with you. If you cannot make a monetary donation then please consider in helping our group to raise funds in any program you may have in place. I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you about the many different ways your company could contribute to our group. Our organization is currently raising funds internally via community basketball contests, candy sales, car washes and etc. We look forward to a continuous relationship with your group.
